The transfer and sharing of data across borders is an integral part of every economic sector and a critical source of innovation. In response to this erosion of trust, policies and regulations addressing cross-border data flows are increasing. Different reasons motivate countries to regulate cross-border data flows, as the report prepared by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development highlights.
